The Aliados Avenue is an important street layout in Santo Ildefonso parish in the city of Porto, in Portugal. With the Liberdade Square and the General Humberto Delgado Square is a continuous urban fabric and it is the main avenue in the center of Porto

The magnificence of its architectural complex and its central character make it the "living room" of the city place par excellence where portuenses focus to celebrate the special moments.

 All the buildings are of good granite many of them crowned with skylights, domes and spiers.

Midway through the avenue of either side. are the two mouths of the Aliados Station of Line D Metro do Porto.

Is the construction of the station was precisely what led to the complete redesign of the avenue a work that was given to architects Álvaro Siza Vieira e Eduardo Souto de Moura. 
The light points PDF , cast iron lanterns with were reinstated in the new concept of Aliados Avenue.

This point of light, makes the connection between the modernity of this avenue and the old points of light that has ever existed in this avenue before the middle of last century.

The molds of cast iron, reborn to beautify the whole set and lanterns were modernized with new technology of light and sealing

The point of light RDF maintain the aesthetics of the past without being noticeable to then installed the latest technology.

This work has been recognized by many international critics as the, “Old is New It” because to fulfill the requirements of sustainability and energy efficiency

The energy savings generated annually, corresponding reduction in Carbon Capture to an amount of trees typical Portuguese (Quercos), occupying a geographic area similar to the two largest urban parks in the City of Porto, the City Park and the Palácio de Cristal Garden.
